    Room Swoon: white lines

    When it comes to styling an all-white space, it’s all about form and texture. Here, we’re loving the contrast of straight edges with curved and geometric shapes; the pared-back Scandi-style wood floors with cosy, handmade cushions; and the simple matt paint surfaces alongside the glossy finishes of the lamp and table-top. Apart from a flash of silver metallic, there isn’t really any other colour present here. Even the clock face doesn’t draw attention to itself. A timeless look indeed.

    Hats off to the owner of this compact flat – what an inventive, budget-friendly use of an alcove! Blue-sky thinking has got round the limited space and made for a streamlined – and rather mega – mini office that makes maximum use of this once-boarded up space. The quirky, vintage-style accessories, original storage solutions – ball of string scissor holder! – and gorgeous postcard art, meanwhile, turn an often overlooked area into a truly inspirational space. Pure genius.
