With her perfectly pretty tea sets appearing in Liberty, Sketch and on Sherlock, ceramicist Ali Miller is a rising star on the homeware scene.
The British designer’s gorgeously illustrated collection of handmade fine bone china is playful, original and more than a bit eccentric, as seen in this quirky Band Lady cake plate, £32, which beautifully references a uniquely colourful, old-school circus.
Afternoon tea would be a real treat served in the flutterly lovely Hampstead Heath tea set, £206, which was inspired by vintage illustrations and rambling childhood walks Ali enjoyed with her family in the area. Loving the dozing figure nodding off as the butterflies flit above his head. It was elementary, my dears, that Holmes simply had to snap up this set!
We also like the natural wonder that is Growing, top, with its delicately drawn little jumping frog, toadstool and snail.
If you’re after something really fancy, glam up your table with the Fun Ride teacup and saucer set, £36. A whacky take on Twenties flapper girls, it’s hand-decorated with 18-carat gold.
Ali encourages her customers to mix and match her creations to create a uniquely personal experience. We’re planning to do just that at our next slap-up tea.
